The trio of teenagers was formed in 2008 while the players were still in high school, and has developed since then into an intense and wildly imaginative group that takes music to its extremes. Clarke uses layered vocals, extended guitar techniques, and a rainbow of effects processors and looping devices converge to smear conventional song forms. The results are massive, madrigal-like, piercing and wavering sonic collages.Twins of El Dorado is a modern art song ensemble featuring vocalist Kristin Slipp (Cuddle Magic, Art Bears) and trumpeter Joe Moffett (Ad Faunum). By turns playful, ritualistic, and downright bizarre, the duo performs original texts and music, and also explores the works of others, from medieval choral music to pieces by saxophonist Steve Lacy.
