The Spotty Dog is now hosting several book clubs which meet monthly in the store:

Preferably Paperback Non-Fiction
The group selects non-fiction books of any type, with no limits on non-fiction subject matter. Past books include The Worst Hard Time, by Timothy Egan: A journalistic history of the the Dust Bowl in the 1920s and 30s. We are currently reading Manhunt, by Jamws L. Swanson: A book about the chase and capture of John Wilkes Booth.

Banned Books
The banned books group reads and discusses books that are banned, or have been banned at one time, whether by a school district in Texas or a government in Europe. Past titles inclide The Giver, and This Boy's Life, by Tobias Wolfe.

We're here to serve our area book clubs with discounts, a clean, well-lighted place, plushy chairs, and more than a few amenities to make you all comfortable.

Book Club Discounts
We offer book and drink discounts for all book clubs who purchase their books from us and/ or choose to meet in our lounge. Decide on a name for your club (if you haven't already), and have a representative from your club come in and let us know your club's name, and which book (and how many) you'll need us to order for you for the month. No hassle, no order forms. Oh--and we'll give you each 10% off your club purchases.

Hosting Your Book Club Gathering
We are delighted to host your bookclub gatherings at the Spotty Dog. We'll give you a cozy space to meet, with special drink discounts. With great food and cafe sweets, eight beers on tap, five wines, coffee, tea, and various cold sodas and juices, we're here to take good care of you. Space is first come, first serve, so simply stop in to schedule a time.
